PLANTING ON THE BANKS OF THE WHAREKAWA ESTUARY

On Wednesday 10th July Opoutere School went down to the Wharekawa Estuary where they planted close to 300 plants. After the planting they went to Opoutere Beach and did their annual clean-up.

The plants were provided by the Wharekawa Catchment Care Group and by Opoutere School Allgreenz enviro-group, so it was a real community effort. A huge thank you to Opoutere School and Alan Bridson who helped on the day as a representative of the Wharekawa Catchment Care Group.

A great community initiative!
